My
Father, Edmund Pinkwart, was born in Warsaw on 16th of Nov.1896, died in Milanówek 24th
of Oct.1962. He was son of Karol Rudolf Pinkwart and Marianna born
Switaj. He is
burried on evangelical cemetery in
Warsaw.
Married first time to Joanna Scheing (1894-1958), from this marriage his
daughter
Hanna was born (1922-1987), married to Julian Wereszczyński.
After the 2nd WW
she lived in London. Hanna Wereszczyńska left a daughter Bożena. Edmund Pinkwart was
married second time to my Mother, Aniela
born Lublin (1920-1989). I am their single child. My father has younger brother
Hubert,
which children are Natalia and Harry, still living in Gliwice.
My
Father was German origin (grandfather Karol Rudolf was
German, born in Frankfurt am Oder,
died in Warsaw,

As Germans whole family was deported by Russians to Siberia before 1st WW.
Adhesion to German community let my Father save come back to...
Poland.. The real meaning of the documents
shown on
right (after click you can see several) I cannot understand good, please help me... In the time of Warsaw Uprising my Father was the
officer of Polish Home Army and fought against Germans. He conducted the
insurgent troop in the vicinity of Jasna Streat, see photos above, next at
Warsaw Old Town. Whole famiily was arrested and removed from Warsaw. In the time
of Uprising my grandmother Marianna
born Switaj has
perished, we do not know where she is burried. My Father
was detain in temporary camp in town Pruszkow first, then moved via Erfurt to the
Konzentration Lager in Zella-Mehlis and Sachsenhausen. He
worked there as translator and locksmith. His real profession was bookkeeper.
After the War he worked in the firm "Wilbra" of concern "Inco" and in Polish
Bible Society. He was protestant (Augsburg-Evangelist).
In the Warsaw Uprising Anniversary
On the 1st of August accrues the Anniversary of Warsaw Uprising. On this occasion I decided to publish some photos made in those days I found in my Father documents. Maybe someone would recognize himself or somebody's relatives and could make me know circumstances in which those photos was made....
